Insure Georgia

Insure Georgia was formed as a focused initiative by Community Health Works (CHW) with assistance from several partners throughout the Georgia.  Our sole purpose is to help Georgians gain access to high quality, affordable health coverage.  We do this as part of CHW’s mission to improve the health of the communities that we serve.  We know that only with access to quality healthcare can the health of Georgia thrive.  To do this work we have received significant funding from the United State Department of Health and Human Services, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).   Through a cooperative agreement with CMS (5 NAVCA150291), CMS has designated Insure Georgia as a Marketplace Navigator Organization serving all of Georgia. Because of this Federal funding, all of our work is absolutely free to our clients.

We are absolutely vendor and politically neutral.  Our goal is to help Georgians determine what assistance they may be eligible for and to select an insurance plan that best meets their unique needs.  We do not receive any money or commissions from any insurance companies that participate in the healthcare.gov Marketplace.  We champion the successes of the Affordable Care Act while responsibly acknowledging its short falls.  The way we see it, politics play no part in us helping Georgians get the very best health coverage available to them.  We also assist Georgians with Medicaid, Medicare, PeachCare for Kids, and veterans’ benefits.

We are available to help Georgians in person, over the phone, or via the computer.  We have trained and licensed navigators stationed throughout the state. Our navigators primarily work in the community and not in their offices because we believe we should make it as easy as possible for Georgians to get help.  They service every single county in Georgia and travel to every county to assist Georgians during open enrollment each year.  We are also available outside of open enrollment to help with post-enrollment issues and special enrollments to significant life changes such as moving, getting married, losing a job, and others.  Our offices are located in Albany, Athens, Atlanta, Augusta, Brunswick, Columbus, Gainesville, Macon, Rome, Valdosta, and Vidalia.

We also operate a Virtual Navigation Center in our Macon office (1-866-988-8246).  We have Navigators available to answer your questions about the healthcare.gov, subsidies and plans available, the Affordable Care Act, and other issues.  Our navigators can answer questions or go through the entire enrollment process over the phone.  Our virtual navigators can even walk you through the healthcare.gov website by using a secure screen sharing program while on the phone with you.  Using the program, they can see what you see and answer any questions you might have.  If you would prefer in-person assistance, our virtual navigators can also connect you to your local regional navigator to schedule an in-person appointment.

We have a diverse staff that is specially trained to assist even more diverse communities.  We realize that there are special populations throughout Georgia that have unique assistance needs.  Our entire staff has training to assist these various groups while we have staff with specialized training to assist specific groups.  We have expertise in assisting the LGBTQ community, immigrant and refugee communities, those in mixed documentation households, those with disabilities, families with autistic children, and others.  We can provide navigation assistance in dozens of languages and have several native Spanish speaking navigators to provide in-person or telephone based assistance.

We cannot do our work without valuable help from the Cancer Coalitions of Georgia, Emory University, Morehouse School of Medicine, and nearly 500 community partners throughout Georgia.
